Balmuir x Mifuko lifestyle collection is inspired by traditional craftmanship and long artisan skills. The collection includes timeless, beautiful home decor items that stand the test of time and bring joy both to you and the person who made the product by hand. The collection includes a woven bag, a table basket and two different size lanterns.
The products in the collection are made of strong and durable elephant grass that grows wild in Northern Ghana. The products are handcrafted using a traditional weaving method that ensures the durability of the products. Mifuko's sustainable products encourage local women in Africa to be entrepreneurial and self-reliant, and it enables them to earn an independent income. Each product includes a card signed by the artisan who made the product.

Mifuko Oy
Mifuko is a Finnish desing brand whose goal is to improve women's welfare in rural Africa. Mifuko's baskets and interior decor items are made by over 1200 women in Kenia, Tansania and Ghana and they are sold in over 30 countries. Mifuko's production is based on the principals of fair trade: a fair pay and continuous orders bring security to the future and support the welfare of the entire community. Each Mifuko product is a unique, hand made item that combines modern, Nordic design and traditiona African craftmanship. Each Mifuko product carries the name of the person who made it.
